Information

Leman make, Switzerland's first Maker Faire, will be held on the 27 and 28 of June 2015 in Nyon. Fixme will have a presence there with a stand, and the possibility to organise workshops.

Stand

  • Fixme will have a stand at the festival. We will need to bring things like 3D printers, various really cool projects, stickers, laser cut things, displays and more!
    • Nemen will bring a chocolate printer
    • Mutex + dgellow will participate in spaghetti bridge competition (?)

Workshop

We will be building Minecraft blocks, with a LED inside controlled via Arduino. The Arduino will be programmed over Scratch.

Components

Laser cut box (Sasha)

  • Buy some m^2 of plexi and cut it to size

Scratch for Arduino (Rorist)

Arduino hardware

All this needs to be bought

  • Arduino nano + cable
  • RGB LED (soldered in advance)
  • Temperature probe (soldered in advance)
  • Other sensors
  • Usb charger or no usb charger?

Proposed workshops

These were some of the proposed workshops - they will not be held

Arduino

Use Scratch for Arduino to make a Minecraft block with a LED inside that varies in color according to the temperature, gyroscope movement, time, or even something else!

ESP8266

  • Temp logger
  • Wireless smart LED (i.e. new email, new tweets, outside weather, etc)
  • Door opening sensor

Raspberry Pi

  • Weather station
  • LED controller,
  • Seedbox
  • Programming with Scratch

Soldering

  • Alcohol meter workshop
  • Something with a blinking LED
  • Solder your own arduino + make it blink
