Hello,
I'm Rick ! born in '88
FaceBook
What I studied :
- Math (EPFL for 1 year)
- Computer Science (EPFL for 3 years)
What I'm studying now :
- (Practical) Electronics (ETML ongoing)
What I will study in the future :
- Some more computer science and electronics
What I like :
- My girlfriend
- Stuff related to Math (= the whole Universe + all thinkable universes)
- Electronics (and Computer Science)
- The Go Game
- VideoGames
- Music
- & many other things...
What I'm doing :
- Collecting videogames
- Repairing stuff (electronics)
- Making things (circuits and programming)
- Playing Go (Tournaments and Teaching)
Ongoing Projects :
- Moving out of my actual appartment ! (I will move twice this summer so my projects won't be my number one priority)
- PC2JAMMA (Ongoing... will be finished shortly)
- Cocktail Arcade Table Restoration (CRT needs to be repaired, the rest is details) Donkey Kong Jr I Bought it for 1 CHF !!! WOW !!!
- Making my own arcade PCB (a recent one like the CAVE CV1000 would be great ! or something based on a 68k)
- This summer : Programming : a Danmaku (manic shooter) on iOS or XboxLive
- Soon : RFID Door-Lock
- Atari Lynx II repair (to do: get sound, everything else is done)
- CF based SNES cart (to do: almost everything, choose FPGA or uC, make PCB, use Voltage-Translators, programming, making a little OS, design the cart etc... done : familiarize with CF & SNES specs, block schematics)
What I may be able teach : (mostly basic stuff but useful stuff)
- Basic computer stuff
- Electronics (analog and digital)
- Acceptability in electronics (when it's OK and when it's KO)
- Soldering & Desoldering (tips and tricks)
- How to use Lab-boards, repair & modify PCBs
- Understanding schematics and analyzing them (mostly digital circuits)
- How to make documentation and schematics
- How to do things in a good way (practical electronics)
- How to read Data Sheets
- How to use a DSO (Digital Sampling Oscilloscope)
- How to and how not to measure in electronics (The dos and don'ts with a multimeter)
- AMA about electronics there may be a 0.01% chance I know :)
- Using RPN calculators (even using Curta Mechanical Calculators)
- How to play Go (not how to make a Go AI. Sorry...)
What I want to learn :
- A good ASM book (not HLA ! I won't read "the art of assembly programming" !)
- 68000 ASM if anyone knows a good book (I do possess the 68030 (including 68020) reference manual...)
- 6502 ASM
- ARM (for ARMv6)
- Making my own PCBs easily (work in progress)
What I'm looking for :
- Having Fun (of course...)
- Fluke Multimeter (8x series or 17x series)
DC Power Supply (something like 0-30V, 0-2A)- Wire Wrap tools
- Dev Boards (any CPU or MCU but mostly RISC)
- USB Jtag programmers (I need an AVR one like JTAG ICE MKII)
- JAMMA fingerboards (56 contacts (2x28) 1.57" Spacing)
- 27Cxxx (mostly 27c801) UV or OTP EPROMS (and a couple 27c1024)
- (big capacity) EPROM Eraser
- 2032 batteries (for less than 0.5chf)
- Anything videogame related
- RPN calculators
