Some suggestions (I can help or make things of course)
- Use a separate uCs for the door and the "internet" thingy (make one that does one thing and does it well)
- Make a good use out of the interrupt functions, timers etc in the uC
- Program the uC with a failback mode (using watchdogs for instance)
- The doorlock requires attention, it's a really important part I think (if it fails someone unwanted could come in or someone could be locked outside)
- The code has to be as simple and as clear as possible, it has to be bug free
- Adding a battery for the uC and for the door-lock in case of power break down
I can (would be happy to) work on the project a bit if nobody is wanting to do it. I have experience in programming Atmel uCs and intel 8051 uCs, know how to build a StripBoard circuit etc... I can also use LCDs screens or 7segs to display information. I have the components or uCs so basically it would be free (no $$$ spend)
Naturally it will come with all the documentation (made by me), I could also write the logs on a memory etc... (so every time someone opens the door it could be registered etc...)
I am willing to do it, if you have suggestions tell me and if you want me to do it tell me too. (I won't do anything unwanted, and will not start without approval) --Wertenbr 17:09, 1 June 2012 (CEST)
I would super appreciate it!! Currently, I am locked out, sitting in the cafe next door drinking overpriced drinks --Sasha 17:14, 1 June 2012
Sorry... I locked the door yesterday and completely forgot about the 1min thing (it was the first time I used the tweet function...) --Wertenbr 17:21, 1 June 2012 (CEST)
The 1 minute thing? --Sasha 17:23, 1 June 2012
Wait 1 minute after tweeting before using the RFID... --Wertenbr 17:33, 1 June 2012 (CEST)
I'm totally up to it, and motivated to help. We can also change the door locking mechanism. The one we choose has too many looking part. I would really go for a locking system in the door frame, as it is more reliable. gcmalloc Fri Jun 1 19:01:21 CEST 2012
--Rorist 20:05, 1 June 2012 (CEST)
