Hi / Salut.

Who I am

I used to be a passive Fixme member.
Now I'm your best friend neighbor, as UniverCité's Community Satisfaction Officer (I love the word "tummler" too, I find "community manager" stupid). I work closely with Carmelo to develop UniverCité, make it sustainable, and make it better, iterating, failing and trying again as fast and as often as we can.
I'm also the "Chairman" (i.e. the guy who sends the framadates/weird calendar invites and harasses people to come and document our meetings) of the UniverCité Community Council (UCCC) i.e. the tool where volunteer representatives of all UniverCité residents and members recently started to work for better communications and meaningful interactions between us. Please be patient, it is a recent initiative, but at some point we will make an impact, I promise. The minutes of our first meeting are on Fixme's etherpad and our 2nd meeting is planned for Aug 28th 18h30-19h30.

Why would you care

In a nutshell, my job --big part of it is volunteer work, please be excellent-- is to do as much as I can realistically do to keep every member/resident at UniverCité happy.
Which means sometimes I have to say "no", and sometimes not everybody is happy. This doesn't mean I don't like you. It means community is about consensus and trade-offs.
Talk to me if I said or wrote something that hurts you, please do so before going vocal about it with anybody else, and please keep in mind there is a fair chance I did so unintentionally. It tends to help fixing things faster, and it is way better for our respective stress levels on the long run too.

You definitely need to talk to me before/when planning an event at UniverCité. Because it helps everybody to plan for more, better events.

Other things I do as a volunteer

  • I co-founded Hackuarium, home of your weird biology-loving next-door neighbors (wait, our lab doesn't have doors) at UniverCité, with Luc Henry in February 2014. We met Carmelo and his boss, and made UniverCité the home for this project in May 2014, being the first pioneers to become residents. The association itself was created in Aug. 2014. Which means we still are a really young community doing mistakes (young) communities do. We have a (young, getting better) wiki, too. You should find me there pretty easily. Luc is since the beginning of the association the President of Hackuarium, and I serve as Vice-President. Our other [Board members and their current responsibilities should be listed here].
  • Since Nov. 2014, I'm a Board Member with Opendata.ch, Swiss chapter of Open Knowledge. We make.opendata.ch.
  • I'm a Wikimedia CH member since 2012.

More or less relevant facts about me (i.e. you can skip it)

  • Only paid job at UniverCité so far (July 2015) is to develop the community of our coworkers. Because they are the ones paying me to do so. It is not a full-time job (yet) at all.
  • Born and raise in Brittany, France; grew up in Toulouse; lived in Paris and Rodez.
  • Have a quarter of Belgian blood, used to live in Brussels for 3 years and a half, and missing it a LOT.
  • Met and married an awesome Swiss woman, moved in Lausanne in April 2012 to join her.
  • I talk, eat, drink too much.
  • French & English spoken, slow Spanish understood.
